STS Mentor Position & Application

STS MENTOR POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

    • Escort community children approx. 1.7 miles to and from Eagle’s Nest Elementary
    • Participate in Soldiers to Scholars events and programs such as quarterly health fairs, sustainable garden, and educational field trips.
    • Assist with after school mentoring program

QUALIFICATIONS OF PROGRAM

    • Currently enrolled in at State College or University
    • Undergraduate Candidates:
      • Complete 24 Semester Hours per academic year
      • Maintain 2.5 G.P.A.
    • Graduate Candidates:
      • Complete 15 Semester Hours per academic year
      • Maintain 3.0 G.P.A.
    • Must provide up to 7 to 10 hours of availability (Some weekends hours needed)
    • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and positive role molding behaviors
    • Passion for working with inner-city youth

    • Member Form DD-214 with Honorable Discharge Status
    • Signed Letter of Understanding
    • Copy of current semester course schedule
    • Income Verification Form (if chose to live in Metro Place Apartments)
    • Two (2) Letters of Recommendations
