SCO Assistants

Our SCO Assistants are our customer service representatives, assisting with the dissemination of general information regarding Veteran benefits and/or services, providing assistance to Veteran students with general inquiries about Veteran benefits via phone, email, or in person, and maintaining and organizing veteran-related files.

VAWS Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student veterans and/or dependent using VA Educational Benefits
  • Must have completed one semester prior to employment
  • Must be enrolled 3/4 time

MVSC Peer Success Coaches

Loyalty, commitment, and service before self-do does not end after military service. MVSC Peer Success Coaches has the opportunity to assist fellow student veterans to become successful in their mission of transitioning to university life and completing their degree at UCF. You will help with time management skills, tutoring and answering questions about the campus.

MVSC Goals:

  • Assist student veterans to successfully transition to civilian and academic life while at UCF.
  • Educate student veterans about the resources available at UCF
  • Increase student veteran involvement in student clubs and organizations
  • Assist with the development of the student veteran community where additional needed help may be provided

MVSC Qualifications:

  • Be a currently enrolled student veteran
  • Attended UCF for a minimum on one semester
  • Have a 3.0 UCF GPA or higher

MVSC Street Team (Event Assistants)

VARC Event Team assist the Assistant Director with producing, promoting, and executing social and academic programs for the Military and Veteran Success Center

MVSC Street Team Position Description:

  • Report to MVSC Assistant Director for Events and Programs
  • Attend and staff MVSC and associated events (Not limited to New Student Orientation, Family Weekend, Veterans Month, MVSC Graduation Receptions)
  • Monitor and create content for MVSC social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter)
  • Support Assistant Director with logistical and administrative support
  • Part of a team to develop and produce creative ideas for programs and events

MVSC Street Team Qualifications:

  • Creativity and “outside the box” thinking
  • Passion for events and social media
  • Personable and excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Using VA Educational Benefits and enrolled at least 3/4 time
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends (Family Weekend, Graduation Receptions, etc.)
  • Attended UCF for at least one semester
