STS MENTOR POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

- Escort community children approx. 1.7 miles to and from Eagle’s Nest Elementary
- Participate in Soldiers to Scholars events and programs such as quarterly health fairs, sustainable garden, and educational field trips.
- Assist with after school mentoring program
QUALIFICATIONS OF PROGRAM

- Currently enrolled in at UCF, Valencia College, Seminole State College
- Undergraduate Candidates:
- Complete 24 Semester Hours per academic year
- Maintain 2.5 G.P.A.
- Graduate Candidates:
- Complete 15 Semester Hours per academic year
- Maintain 3.0 G.P.A.
- Must provide up to 7 to 10 hours of availability (Some weekends hours needed)
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and positive role molding behaviors
- Passion for working with inner-city youth

- Member Form DD-214 with Honorable Discharge Status
- Signed Letter of Understanding
- Copy of current semester course schedule
- Income Verification Form (if chose to live in Metro Place Apartments)
- Two (2) Letters of Recommendations
