Paul has had a wide spectrum of experiences in his 30 years as a higher education professional. He began his career in Residence Life and Student Activities at Slippery Rock University in 1983. From there he went to Dover, Delaware, where he was the Director of Student Activities for Wesley College. In 1987 he became the Assistant to the Dean at the University of Maryland's only residential campus in Europe. Overseeing all of UM's student life on the McGraw Army Base in Munich, Paul had the opportunity to live and work on a military base for the first time. He returned to the States in 1990, serving as Assistant Director of Student Activities and General Manager of WPRK for Rollins College. Paul moved to Texas and began his career as an Academic Advisor at Texas A&M University.
In 1997, UCF called Paul back to Orlando to work in the newly developed First Year Advising office. After nine years as Academic Advisor and Assistant Director, Paul left FYA to join the ranks of the UCF Registrar's Office as Associate Registrar. Along with former Assistant Registrar Jim Middlekauff, Paul helped to formulate the plans to create the VARC. In 2010, Director of VARC was added to his titles.
When he's not on campus working or taking classes, Paul is found hanging out with his family or riding around Central Florida on his motorcycle.
